After reading many threads about C6 on the road, we bought a low mile 2013 in Chicago last week and drove back to Oregon in six days. Through Denver, Arches National Park, and home to Portland, 2600 miles. The C6 is an awesome road car. This car is smooth and quiet except for some tire noise on rough surfaces. Seats are comfortable, steering is solid, cruise works great, stereo and GPS are good. After six days on the road, I'm glad I don't have to make the round trip back. There are probably cars that are more comfortable (Cadillac) for a long trip, but none that are more fun. My wife and I both love the car and both want to drive all day. Everyone should make a trip through the Rocky Mountains in a Corvette. click on the picture, it will take you to photobucket for more photos..

PS: 26.3 MPG from Chicago to Portland through the Rockies.

Congrats on the C6. Must have been a blast. The longest I have driven in my 05' was 2 hours. I would love too take it through some mountains. I drove from Morehead Kuntucky (yes that is a real town) in the 77' 14 hours straight. That wasn't too pleasant, no cats and those great 77' seats made for uncomfortable ride.

I was pleasantly surprised with the C6 seat comfort. This car does not have power lumbar supports, but they are still really good. With tilt wheel, and power seat, you can always find a good driving position.

I convinced my wife this would be the trip of a lifetime. She had never seen the Rockies from a car. She was not disappointed.

I added some photos on the My Corvette Photos link on the left. Is there a better way?

Great looking car and great scenery! A C6 is a great road car. Drove my '09 from DFW to Vegas and back a couple of years ago via I-40 and Historic Route 66. Every mile was a blast.

Road trips

Last year my wife and I made a trip from Charlotte, NC to Fargo,ND with our 2006, Z51, 3LT coupe. I have installed Dynomat and some "bubble wrap" type insulation for sound and heat. On the roof I installed a panel with the suction cups for added comfort. The whole trip was nearly 4000 miles and was great. The sport seats were comfortable, driving it is a blast to say the least. It loves 75-85 mph. and average gas mileage for the trip was 28.6.
We have made several long trips to the mountains of North Carolina and to the beach. It is a bit rough riding as we have Michelin run-flat tires, but no worries about traction.
We love our Vette, it's the first one and will do our best to wear it out.

Now that we have been home for a few weeks, we are looking at the pictures every day and remembering what a great trip that was. Thinking about next summer, and a trip to Yellowstone, or Yosemite.
