Ok here is a dumb question.....

I plan on having my side windows tinted soon. I was wondering how to get the side windows all the way up with the door being opened to be working on the tint???

You might try dicsonnecting the battery. I had to disconnect mine, and when I reconnected it, the window indexing did not work and had to be re-set.

 

Just activate the latch mechanism using you a screw or your finger, I do it all the time when a wipe the door window after washing.

 

Do you mean the actual (greased) door latch locking mechanism....and then, as I beleive you mentioned later, you won't be able to close the door until you un latch it...right?

If you do go the route of disconnesting your batt make sure both doors are closed

 

I forgot...make sure to unlatch the lock mechanism just like the way open the door before closing the door.

My battery was dead.....drivers side window does not index. How was it reset?

Once power is back on:
1. Close the door
2. Lower the window
3. Raise the window by pulling up the switch
4. Hold the switch for 3 seconds after the window is closed
5. Release the switch
6. Hold the up switch again for 3 seconds and release

That should do it......

Thanks artyon: My C6 had been sitting a few weeks and it started but I lost the window indexing and used above procedure which solved problem. I also noticed my tire pressure sensors were not working but this is fixed also so I am happy camper.:thumbsup: My C6 is still for sale and listed in the C6 Corvette - Pricing / Sales / Ordering section and I was showing it to someone so the timing was very handy.

 

When i asked the guy at the tint place around here how they would do mine, he said that they take a heat gun and dry the bottome part and i am assuming the top 1" so that it would not move around.

 

trip the latch that the best way. then press the button and it will open agian. don't roll the windows down for a couple days and you r:thumbsup:

I also was concerned about how my tint man was going to tint the entire side windows knowing that it would drop down as soon as the door was opened. He merely used a #2 phillips screwdriver on the door latch so that the window went all the way up. When he finished installing the tint I pressed the button to open the door, the window dropped down (indexed) and that was all there was to it.
